So, I finally posted a Wardrobe Tour video on my YouTube channel a short while ago! Check it out here:
“You’re so organized :O”
Call it minor Obsessive Compulsive Disorder or being “particular”, I just like my things to be in order. My wardrobe is a joy to me but, er, it’s quite a lot to physically sort through and I needed a more streamlined system so I turned to an app – the ‘My Dressing’ app in particular. I’ve tried loads of others but this one, personally, has the best interface, organization and outfit planning capabilities above all others.
Ugh, ‘pain in the ass’ is literally what I felt after squatting down to take so many photographs; butt (hehe), it was all so worth it. Now, you can just take the photographs of the items on their hangers or whatever, and then crop out the backgrounds (which the app allows your to do). However, it just looked too messy when I tried that so I decided a mono-toned background – like my beautiful grey carpet – would work better.
You also have the option to create categories, sub-categories and delete the default ones that came with the app. I’ve sub-categorized my ‘Shoes’ into ‘Heels’ and ‘Flats’, for example. You don’t have to fill in all the item details unless you’d like to. I don’t fill in which item is from which brand and how much it costs and all that.
You can add your outfits to ‘collections’ or ‘seasons’. I created an ‘All’ category because I can’t be arsed sometimes to think about it too much.
I know, I know: it’s quite the faff. Butt again (hehehe), it has made picking out outfits so much more fun. I don’t know how many of you knew of the now gone Polyvore.com (thanks @Mercy for having introduced me to it!). I used to spend ages putting outfits together there.
This platform provides me an overview of everything I have so that I can see which pieces I haven’t given enough love to and reminds me to wear them more. Also, it’s like shopping your own wardrobe. As a shopaholic, I cannot approve more. It’s all about getting that price-per-wear down, guys.
If you’d like to try this method out for yourself, you can download the app here:
